This is what I've been learning lately, the art of cloisonne enamel. Here where I live they have been doing it for centuries. All started as religious icons, but today they also make fashion and decorative pieces.
The divider walls are 1mm high and 0.08 mm wide made of fine silver not to alter the colors of the enamel, this walls then are soldered (yes soldered) to the base of the piece and then you apply the enamel by layers, melting it with a torch (you can use an oven too... if you have one).
You finish up by sanding it with 6 different sizes of sand paper until it gets its luster. This earrings are the only ones I haven't damage in the process, so yay, I did it!!!!

Very, very beautiful. I know how hard it is not to ruin enamel (and polymer clay) with sanding.
truly sunning workmanship . . . I think you did a wonderful job on these =)
