Looking for a name.....week 17 "growth"

Hi!!
this pendant is an idea I've been "cooking" for a while, you can see here my attemts. I remember when I saw this technique the first time ...it was at my neighbor’s house, her mother (who past away after a long battle against spinal cancer) used to have a framed abstract piece made by waving different colors of thread forming a huge design so intricate, I always remembered it, I'm not sure if she made it. About two months ago, thinking about that piece of art, I thought that something like this could be applied to wirework, so I looked up in the web to try to find the name of this technique with no luck. I'm thinking how to name this pendant maybe wire waved pendant? so if some of you know the name of this technique or has a creative name for this piece, you are more than welcome to leave a comment. I believe this technique was on fashion in the 70's. As for the materials, I used Brass and copper, and attached a nice Prenite teardrop. This is definitely in my list of tutorials to do.

Week 15!!

This is my entry for week 15... I've been working a lot in my "at the garden" series and I can't stop thinking about flowers, butterflies and dragonflies!! For this pendant I used facetted spinel bead, they are very sparkly and a flat AA citrine, I just love this combination of stones, I've never tried it before. Feel free to comment!

Fabulous hoops

Ok, here it is, this tutorial came out soo awesome, I'm very happy to introduce it to you, I hope you like it. For this project I wanted the look of Tourmaline, so I used beads with similar colors:
Onyx (black), African Jade (dark green), Prasiolite (light green), Rhodonite (pink), Garnet (burgundy) and finally another black Onyx.

You can use from swarovkys cristals to seed beads, semy precious stones to gemstones, you can make them unicolor or with all the colors of the rainbow, they will look Fabulous no matter what.I hope you like it.

Error & Success

This first pendant "Error" Took a lot of planing, I designed that flower first in a paper, then I painted it trying to mimic the colors of enamel I have, you know to achieve a good color convination, then I twisted every little divider in a smaller scale to make my design into this pendant , after so much work this came out, it is not bad, but I'm somehow disapointed because it didn't came like I imagen it would, so I started to look for the reason and this is something I discover:

When you use only matte colors there is a lack in three dimentional feeling that I happen to like so much, also matte colors tend to be more moody than transparents, you can see a lot more bubbles formed on matte colors.

For this second pendant "Success" I worked half as much as for the first one and it came out so much nicer and here is why:

I used only transparent colors in several shades of the same color, traying to make degrades of the color so is has a more three dimentional feeling. Also the colors seem to be more complementary to each other. So next colors I'm buying are going to be different shades of transparent green, because I use here the only two I have, and some how it would look even better with a third shade of green.

Thanks for looking

Heavenly a la Eni

My dearest friend gave me this Murano cabochon to make her a ring, I was so afraid to brake it when setting it that I decided to do it "wire wrapped", some how I though that it was impossible to get a good grip of a cabochon with wire, I was soo wrong this cabochon is not falling.

So, inspired on Eni Oken and Deliasstone style I made this ring, It was a total success, my friend loved it, so I wanted to share it with you and I have to say, this technique is so much fun, once you get a hand on it you can grab about anything.

Cloisonné, an ancient art.

This is what I've been learning lately, the art of cloisonne enamel. Here where I live they have been doing it for centuries. All started as religious icons, but today they also make fashion and decorative pieces.

The divider walls are 1mm high and 0.08 mm wide made of fine silver not to alter the colors of the enamel, this walls then are soldered (yes soldered) to the base of the piece and then you apply the enamel by layers, melting it with a torch (you can use an oven too... if you have one).

You finish up by sanding it with 6 different sizes of sand paper until it gets its luster. This earrings are the only ones I haven't damage in the process, so yay, I did it!!!!

Ring fever!

I have been working a lot lately, I have a ring fever! I think after earrings, rings are the most important accessory. Nothing better than a big ring worn alone letting it say a lot about you.
I finished those over the weekend, a lot of ideas are flowing in my head so I'll better go back to ...you know...work!

Lately I have a thing for golden tones...

I'm really happy to have a place to post pictures of my jewelry to show you all, you are welcome at my place any time, come back often to see more jewelry!
Lately I have a thing for golden tones, and because here where I live there is not such a thing as gold-filled I went to the local metal market and got brass wire, the color of the brass is just soo beautiful.... making this ring wasn't easy, brass is harder than silver what I usually work with. After some errors and some wire wasted I finished this pieces.
I already have some rings ordered in different sizes, the girls loved them!
I better go back to work!
Pardon my orthography I'm Venezuelan!
